The Court Interpreter II: Practice and Skills program is designed to improve the interpreter’s performance. Each interpreter will get a chance to identify the aspects of his/her performance in the three modes of interpreting that needs to be improved and find a way to stretch himself/herself. It is a very specific type of work that an interpreter needs to do. This class is a push beyond the current limit.
50 hours of training that covers interpreting in healthcare and legal settings. The program covers both the judiciary interpreter code of ethics and the healthcare interpreter code of ethics with a comparison of the two. This training builds on skills in consecutive interpretation, simultaneous interpretation, and sight translation. It is the first and only national program that helps interpreters to transition, with ease, from a healthcare assignment to a legal assignment. This training is also a preparation for interpreters to take the national medical interpreter certification exam and the state court interpreter certification exam.
